Redes sociais na biblioteca escolar : uma oportunidade para promover a leitura

Abstract

O presente trabalho enquadra-se no âmbito da promoção da leitura, numa perspetiva do papel que a biblioteca escolar poderá desempenhar com a implementação das ferramentas Web 2.0, junto de aprendentes do 1.º ciclo. Na primeira parte, relativa ao enquadramento teórico, salientamos aspetos relacionados com o paradigma tecnológico e a sociedade de informação, que conduzem obrigatoriamente a um novo paradigma educacional e determinam uma mudança de práticas na escola. A necessidade de habilitar os aprendentes na área da promoção da leitura, a partir da biblioteca escolar, de um conjunto de competências da leitura necessárias para procurar, questionar, tratar a informação e saber aplicá-la no contacto com o mundo que nos rodeia, constitui um grande desafio para a escola e também para a biblioteca escolar. É neste âmbito que desenvolvemos a nossa reflexão sobre os desafios que se colocam à biblioteca escolar e ao seu docente bibliotecário, enquanto mediador/promotor de leituras. Na segunda parte descrevemos e analisamos os resultados obtidos através das contribuições dos aprendentes ao longo do projeto de intervenção, ao evidenciarem que as redes sociais potenciam a comunicação, a interação, a colaboração e a socialização, num quadro favorável à leitura, através de atividades lúdicas de aprendizagem em contexto escolar. Acreditamos também que a biblioteca escolar e as ferramentas Web 2.0, podem ser uma importante força mobilizadora no sentido de procurar unir esforços entre a escola e a família, para um trabalho de promoção da leitura com vista a desenvolver o prazer de ler. Com este estudo pretendemos também contribuir para uma mudança de atitude dos aprendentes face às propostas de práticas promotoras da leitura e abrir caminho para um trabalho futuro mais consistente e mais abrangente.

This present work fits in the sphere of reading promotion in a perspective of what role a school library, by implementing the tools of Web 2.0, may play on learners of the 3rd and 4th grade. In the first part, relating to the theoretical framing, aspects related to the technological paradigm and to the society of information, which necessarily lead us towards a new educational paradigm and determine changes in school practices, are highlighted. The need to enable the learners in the area of promoting reading with a set of the necessary reading skills to search, question, treat information and to know how to apply it in contact with the world around us, is a major challenge as for the school as for the school library. It’s in this context that we develop our reflection about the challenges that the school library and its librarian teacher, as a mediator of readings, will face. In the second part are described and analyzed the results obtained from the learners’ contributions throughout the project intervention, by showing that social networks enhance communication, interaction, collaboration and socialization, in a favorable context for reading, through playful learning activities in school context. We also believe that the school library and the Web 2.0 tools can be an important mobilizing force towards seeking to unite efforts between school and home, in working together to promote reading in order to develop the pleasure in reading. With this study, we also intend to contribute to a change of the learners’ attitude to proposed promotion practices of reading and pave the way for a more consistent and comprehensive future work.
