Literacia estatística na resolução de problemas com alunos do 5º ano de escolaridade

Abstract

A capacidade crítica na resolução de problemas é uma competência essencial a desenvolver no indivíduo durante a sua formação. Compreender o nível de literacia estatística de um aluno e o seu estágio de compreensão do contexto, no processo de ensino-aprendizagem, permite a adoção de metodologias e instrumentos que inevitavelmente culminarão num processo importante para habilitar o aluno na construção de conhecimento matemático aliado ao desenvolvimento de uma atitude crítica na Resolução de Problemas, o que refletirá mais tarde na integração do aluno na sociedade. Abordando algumas correntes e conceções educacionais, o presente estudo pretende avaliar os níveis de literacia estatística de uma turma de alunos do 5º ano de escolaridade. A partir dos dados recolhidos foi possível compreender que os alunos desenvolvem raciocínios que se encontram nos níveis mais baixos de literacia estatística, compreendendo assim a necessidade de trabalhar, em sala de aula, esta mesma competência.

The use of critical skills in problem solving is essential to develop during the schooling period. Comprehending the level of statistical literacy of a student and his stage of understanding the context, during the teaching-learning process, allows the adoption of methodologies and tools that will culminate into an important process that enables the students with the mathematical knowledge through the development of a critical attitude in a Problem Solving mindset, which will reflect later in the transition of the student into society. Addressing some educational conceptions, this study aims to assess the levels of statistical literacy of a class of students in the 5th grade. From the data collected it was possible to understand that students demonstrate lower levels of statistical literacy in their answers, which indicate that it’s necessary to work and develop, in the classroom, this skill.
