Vou ser mãe, e agora? Trajetórias sociais de mães institucionalizadas em comunidades de inserção

Abstract

Neste trabalho de projeto vamos refletir sobre o impacto que a gravidez na adolescência tem na trajetória de vida da jovem. Portugal apresenta atualmente a segunda maior taxa de gravidez na adolescência da União Europeia. Num contexto atual de institucionalização em Comunidade de Inserção, e, na insuficiência de um número de estudos neste âmbito, sentimos a necessidade de compreender os efeitos e as alterações surtidas nos percursos de vida das jovens devido à gravidez precoce. Para tal, procedemos à elaboração deste trabalho, onde relacionamos os conceitos (gravidez na adolescência, trajetórias de vida, institucionalização, entre outros) inerentes a esta temática com uma contextualização teórica e trabalho empírico. O trabalho apresenta histórias de vida de jovens que foram mães na adolescência, sendo que cada história é única e complexa.

In this project we will reflect on the impact that teenage pregnancy has on a young woman's lifelong trajectory. Portugal currently has the second highest rate of teenage pregnancy in the European Union. In the current context of institutionalisation in the Insertion Community, and in the absence of a number of studies in this field, we feel the need to understand the effects and the varied changes in the life paths of young women due to early pregnancy. To achieve this we proceed in preparing this work, where we relate the concepts (pregnancy in adolescence, life trajectories, institutionalization, among other) inherent to this theme with a theoretical contextualization and empirical work.

This work presents a set of life stories of young women who became mothers during their adolescence, with each story being unique and complex.
