A educação social ao serviço das trajetórias dos indivíduos e das comunidades: práticas educacionais e desafios constantes

Abstract

Considerando as transformações sociais ocorridas no século XIX, este artigo propõe um olhar cruzado entre a Pedagogia Social e a Sociologia na construção do conhecimento sobre a intervenção socioeducativa, cujo domínio de atuação tem vindo a ganhar terreno enquanto prática de trabalho social nos últimos anos em Portugal. Neste sentido, o artigo procura apresentar a Educação Social como uma prática de trabalho única e original, partindo das problemáticas sociais singulares, conjugando as perspetivas social e educativa num olhar diferenciador face às mesmas. Procura-se salientar a potencialidade da Educação Não Formal na conceção de políticas educacionais inovadoras na medida em que se ajustam às exigências sentidas no (i)mediato no contexto das realidades sociais. Destaca-se fundamentalmente o caráter dinâmico inerente à prática socioeducativa para o qual se convoca a noção de trajetória de mudança ao serviço dos indivíduos e das comunidades

Considering the social transformations that took place in the 19th century, this article proposes a cross -view between Social Pedagogy and Sociology in the construction of knowledge about socio -educational intervention, whose domain of practice has gained ground as a social work practice in recent years in Portugal.In this sense, the article seeks to present Social Education as a unique and original work practice, starting from the singular social problems, combining the social and educational perspectives in a differentiating view of them. It is sought to highlight the potential of Non-formal Education in the design of innovative educational policies insofar as they fit the requirements felt in (i) mediate in the context of social realities. The dynamic character inherent in the socio-educational practice is fundamentally emphasized, which calls for the notion of trajectory of change at service for individuals and communities
