"Em todos os momentos, eu posso participar": A participação das crianças no quotidiano educativo da creche e educação pré-escolar

Abstract

O presente relatório de estágio foi elaborado no âmbito do Mestrado em Educação Pré-escolar na Escola Superior de Educação de Paula Frassinetti. Através do desenvolvimento de um processo de investigação-ação pretendeu-se explorar, teórica e empiricamente, os níveis de participação das crianças no quotidiano educativo do contexto de creche e educação pré-escolar. Assim, foi definido um conjunto de objetivos específicos que orientaram toda a investigação, tais como: explorar as conceções de criança e de educador e a sua relação com a participação das crianças; compreender como as crianças podem exercer a sua participação no planeamento do quotidiano educativo; identificar as dimensões de participação das crianças em contexto de educação de infância e analisar o papel do educador na promoção da participação da criança. Este processo ocorreu em dois contextos educativos diferentes: no contexto de creche numa sala do berçário e no contexto da educação pré-escolar na sala dos 4 anos. Neste relatório, para poder dar resposta aos objetivos definidos, foram contempladas as vozes dos diferentes intervenientes. As vozes das crianças estão presentes através da apresentação de diferentes situações práticas e formas de registo. Por sua vez, foram realizadas entrevistas às educadoras de infância da sala dos dois contextos e às ajudantes de ação educativa da sala do berçário. Com o presente relatório de estágio pode-se concluir que existem determinados aspetos que parecem determinar o nível e tipo de participação das crianças na organização do seu quotidiano educativo como, por exemplo, a imagem de criança assumida pelo adulto, a idade da criança no tipo de participação, a conceção de planeamento e a interação adulto e criança.

Through the development of an action-research process it was intended to explore both theoretically and empirically the levels of participation of children in the educational daily life of the context of daycare and preschool education. Thus, a set of specific objectives was defined that guided all the research, such as: explore the conceptions of a child and an educator and their relationship to children´s participation; understanding how children can exercise their participation in the planning of everyday educational life; identifying the dimensions of children´s participation in the context of early childhood education and analyze the role of the educator in promoting child participation. This process occurred in two different educational contexts: in the context of daycare centre, in a nursery room, and in the context of preschool education in the 4-year-old room. In this report, in order to respond to the defined objectives, the voices of the different stakeholders were contemplated. The voices of the children are present through the presentation of different practical situations and forms of registration. In turn, interviews were conducted with the kindergarten teachers in the room of the two contexts and with the educational activity assistants in the nursery room. With this internship report it can be concluded that there are certain aspects that seem to determine the level and type of participation of children in the organisation of their educational daily life, such as the image of a child assumed by the adult, the age of the child in the type of participation, the conception of planning and the adult-child interaction
